Fried Chicken House

4 Nov

Get ready for all my #missingOsaka posts.  Haha!  I so miss Japan and being with my family!  Cannot wait for the next trip.  Luckily, we all got a 5-year visa!  Hooray!  So we’re already planning our next trip.  Haha!

We enjoyed Osaka so much.  Food trip siya talaga.  I really didn’t shop much but eat… oh yes.  You can enter any restaurant here and for sure masarap yung food!  So yes, we entered this restaurant because we saw pictures of one of our favorites… Karaage!!! Also lots of pics of chickens on their walls.

Everything in their menu was Japanese and no one really spoke in English, so I apologize I don’t know what this restaurant is called nor the exact address.  Haha!  I am so useless sorry.  Haha!

Thankfully all their menus always have photos which is a lifesaver!  So I got my favorite, the katsu chicken with curry of course.  Hehe… It was 824 Yen which is around Php 321.00.  Not bad at all!!!

I am also so glad that Damien loves Japanese food as well.  It’s not hard to feed him here.  Unlike when we were in Hongkong, all he ate was fried rice.  LOL!

Photo muna with my parents 🙂

Hungry na! LOL!

Dante’s order came first.  Karaage!  So good!!! And their dipping sauce was perfect with the chicken 🙂

And here’s my order, chicken katsu curry!  LOVE.

My parents got the chicken with egg over rice dish 🙂  My friend, Isabel, said it’s called Oyako-don.  “Oya” means parent and “ko” means child… So the chicken is the parent? and the egg is the child? LOL.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There was no kiddie meal in this restaurant but Damien got his favorite… Chicken Tonkatsu 🙂

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

That one last breath before I devour my meal.  Hahaha! Bumebwelo lang 🙂

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yeyyyy!  Eat up, Little Bee! 🙂

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Obviously enjoying his meal 🙂  Thank you, Osaka, for keeping my son well fed with your awesome Tonkatsus! 🙂  More Osaka food posts to come! 🙂

Have a great Wednesday, my friends! 🙂

A Stroll Down Takeshita Street

1 Sep

IMG_9290lores

One of my favorite shopping places in Tokyo, Japan! 🙂  Takeshita Street in Harajuku!  Map, check!  Shopping bag, check!

IMG_9289lores

Most of the stuff they sell in Takeshita are kind of unnecessary but too cute to pass. Haha! Check out the trinkets I saw.  And this is just a very tiny portion of it.  Some stores don’t allow photos but I was getting so dizzy with all the stuff!  Sobrang aliw grabe! 🙂

IMG_9293lores

There was a much younger crowd here in Takeshita.  Dante and I totally blended in.  Haha!

IMG_9298lores

IMG_9292lores

IMG_9295lores

I was tempted to buy this shirt… Haha!

IMG_9296lores

Perfect place to find your halloween costumes!  I don’t think these will suit me though.  They’re too conservative!  Haha!

IMG_9302lores

IMG_9303lores

IMG_9306lores

When I was in a store with all the trinkets, I could hear the teens say, “Oh kawaii! kawaii!”  So cute how the kids say it 🙂

Scary looking creatures.  But they’re actually quite cute!  Kawaii!!!  Saw a lot of these in Japan 🙂

IMG_9312lores

And my favorite part of Takeshita Street is seeing the teens all dressed up and ready to strike a pose for the crowd 🙂  I didn’t see any of the goth girls in red contact lenses and black lipstick this trip 😦

IMG_9299lores

Parang normal lang dito yung magsuot ng stuff toy sa katawan 🙂 hehe

One of my favorite places in Tokyo, Takeshita Dori in Harajuku.  It’s like being in a street full of Gift Gates.  Haha! Always interesting to go here!  A must when you’re in Tokyo especially if you like buying “coochie coochie” things like me 🙂

Happy Sunday, my Kawaii friends! 🙂

Snackin’ in Lotteria

25 Aug

IMG_9316lores

I am so missing Tokyo, Japan.  The place, the people and its food!  Was going through my photos and I remembered this hotdog stand called Lotteria 🙂

IMG_9318lores

Here’s one snack I couldn’t forget.  It’s a hotdog in a warm and crisp baguette with the ketsup already pre-applied inside.  Pre-applied??? Can’t think of a better term.  Hahaha! Sorry, I’m a makeup artist 🙂  The hotdog guy uses this scary machine to make this perfect hotdog sandwich.  Looks like those torture devices during the olden times.  Haha!

IMG_9319lores

Perfect snack during a rainy day in Tokyo!

IMG_9320lores

Before the shopping begins… 🙂

IMG_9322lores

What have you been snackin’ on these days???

IMG_9323lores

Have a happy Sunday, everyone!!! 🙂

Coffee Breaks in Tokyo

29 Jun

IMG_9396lores

For me and my husband, coffee breaks are like pressing the pause button on your DVD player.  Hehe! Time to space out yo! 🙂

I was so glad we were able to drink lots of coffee in Japan this trip.  The last time I was in Japan, I was six months preggers and I couldn’t find any coffee shop that served decaf.  Haha!  I don’t think the Japanese like decaf.  Starbucks had to brew a special cup for me at that time.  I remember having a major breakdown when we couldn’t find a coffee shop that had decaf.  LOL!

But this time around, we drank the strongest, blackest coffee Tokyo could give.  Haha!  Here are some of the cafes we came across during our wandering walks in Tokyo 🙂

Here’s a cafe somewhere in Harajuku…

A Walking Tour of Shimokitazawa

23 Jun

IMG_9101lores

Shimokitazawa… One of the highlights of my Tokyo trip!  Absolutely love this charming little place!  Shimokitazawa is located in Setagaya, Tokyo.  We didn’t know exactly where to go after we got out of the train station.  So we just followed the flock of young people and the shops and cafes were just around the corner 🙂

IMG_9020lores

Shimokitazawa is similar to Harajuku but it’s less crowded and more intimate 🙂  A lot of the stores sell used clothing, shoes and accessories as well brand new items.  Some stores sell goods from around the globe, like India, Mexico and Africa.  Take a walk with me and I’ll show you some of the interesting things I saw .  Warning:  this post is photo heavy.  Hehe!

You’ll never get thirsty here in Tokyo.

IMG_9054lores

I loved how this store looked, Fig London.  Looked like a little country home 🙂

IMG_9058lores

Don’t forget to look up!  There are stores also on the second floor! 🙂

Some stores look so small from the outside but once you enter, it’s a like a cave of great finds!!!  Like this shop.  Can’t read their super faded sign though 🙂
