Look how happy Damien was… I wonder why! Haha! Thank you for coming, Tita Jilly! 🙂

Last March 28, 2013, I celebrated my birthday with the most special people in my life! 🙂  (Kulang na lang Ate and Kuya ko. HUHUHU!)  Since it was my birthday, I chose to eat my favorite cuisine of all time… Japanese 🙂

My birthday this year fell on Holy Thursday.  So I wasn’t sure if there were any restaurants open.  I knew for sure that hotels would be.  So I chose UMU in Dusit Thani Hotel 🙂  (But I would have chosen UMU anyway even if it weren’t a holiday.  I just love this place.)

Isabel and I LOVE Japanese food 🙂 Isabel is one of my best friends from High School and she’s our head receptionist at our little nail salon. Haha!  She celebrated her birthday last month and I was so glad she picked Mangetsu for her birthday lunch! 🙂

Mangetsu is located at 38 Jupiter Street, Bel-Air, Makati.

Check out Isabel’s newly painted nails using Orly’s Naughty or Nice Collection.

Mozzarella Cheese Risotto. An Italian-inspired rice dish (P260). This is Isabel’s favorite. I wouldn’t have ordered this normally. I found this combi to be a bit strange. But OMG. LOVED IT.

Japanese Fried Rice. My all-time favorite. But the cheese risotto won that day! 🙂

Pork Tonkatsu. Gosh, I didn’t realize we ordered so much. Haha!

Meet my friends, Claudette, Angela and Bastie 🙂  Love these guys!

They don’t judge me by the amount of food that’s on my plate. LOL!

Every time I eat with these guys, we have a feast!  Always ordering too much but… the more the merrier! 🙂

Thank you for an awesome lunch, Isabel! ‘Til the next banquet 🙂

Who Needs Another Staycation?

30 Apr

I badly need another another “stay”cation.  Our last staycation was during Easter.  This is how we celebrate…

Cantada style 🙂

No need to go to the beach. There's sand right here 🙂

No need to ride a plane.

Staycations are all about eating.

Grab a plate and some chopsticks. When dining with the Cantadas, you must eat fast.

California Maki.

Salmon Sashimi.

Uni.

More Salmon Sushi.

Fried Chicken Skin.

Fried Chicken.

Beef Salpicao.

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce.

Adobo.

Ebi Tempura.

Japanese Fried Rice.

Butter Cake from Vargas.

Best Halo-Halo ever.

Crushed Ice for the Halo-Halo.

This is how I eat my Halo-Halo. Half bananas half milk. Yum.

Easter Egg Hunt for the kids 🙂

This is the best thing to find inside an egg. Aren't there any eggs for the adults, Tita Tonette??? 🙂

Cutie siblings, Tami and Sabine with their Easter Eggs 🙂

The handsome cousins, Greggy and Crow 🙂

I know it’s too late to say Happy Easter, friends.  Hehe I just can’t wait for the next legendary luncheon with the family! 🙂  To all our dear family members abroad, I miss you!!! 🙂
