I miss my crochet hook so much.  If I’m not holding a makeup brush, I’m probably holding a beaker making perfume.  And now, as I look back on our photos during our trip to Vietnam with my husband, I remember the cute crocheted dolls we saw… I so want to pick up my hook and create my handmade creatures once again 🙂

Last year, I was obsessed with making superheroes… I think this year will be different.

My Amiguru-Minis

 

Lately, I’ve been crocheting smaller dolls.  I realized they’re much simpler to make than my big dolls.  I call them my amiguru-minis 🙂  I used almost the same pattern for the superheroes and just made everything smaller 🙂

They look like chubby baby superheroes 🙂

Mini shield for Captain America 🙂

Here’s a yuppie zombie I made based on the pattern of Christen Haden’s book called Creepy Cute Crochet 🙂  I just added arms and legs.

And since I’m such a fan of Game of Thrones, I crocheted my favorite character, Jon Snow.

“You know nothing, Jon Snow.”

Can’t wait for the fifth season 🙂

And finally, I was able to crochet Elsa, a character the litte girls love.  I haven’t even seen the movie! Haha!

Just to give you an idea how small these doll are… Here is cute little Erin holding Elsa 🙂

I’ll be making more of these amiguru-minis 🙂  Stay tuned 🙂

I really want to do more characters from Game of Thrones but their costumes are so detailed.  Oh let’s see what I can come up with 🙂

Chinkee

Here’s a short post to brighten up this gloomy Monday 🙂

I just wanted to share with you all my latest handmade creation, her name is Chinkee.  I wanted her outfit to be a simple black dress so she will always be in style, ready for her meetings 🙂

I also made her two necklaces.  One is a key and the other is a keyhole heart that says, “made with love”.

Chinkee is probably the happiest doll I’ve made so far.  Hihi… 🙂  She’s one of the few who has a smile on her face.

The Googlees by Crow’s Nest

My latest project was a set of twelve toys.

They were inspired by one of my favorite arts and crafts item… Those googly eyes 🙂

These two gentlemen are my son’s favorites.  They were inspired by the band called, “The Lumineers”.

I am so into stripes right now.  Turned these dolls into DJ’s in stripes 🙂

This was one was inspired by my handsome husband.  Hahaha! 🙂  This is his usual get-up when he goes on his Sunday bike rides.

And this is Snow.  We both love big glasses and bags.  Can’t have enough of those 🙂

Professor Severus Snape for Anna

Late last year, when I joined the Escolta Market, I met this really nice girl who loved Severus Snape.  Her name is Anna 🙂

She asked me if I could make her a Snape handmade doll.  I got excited because I’ve never done any Harry Potter characters before so I agreed 🙂

I crocheted Snape a little wand 🙂

It was my first time to crochet a coat 🙂

I was really happy with how Snape turned out 🙂  So sad to see him go but he’s now with Anna 🙂 Check out Anna’s blog here! 🙂

I’m thinking of making Harry Potter now.  Let’s see.

Project: Counting Sheep

PROJECT: COUNTING SHEEP.  A project I made especially for a friend’s baby 🙂

These are the sheeps’ stuffed bodies and legs.  I love the clean, white yarn.

These are the heads. Embroidered an X for their eyes.

Perfect material to hang the sheep on the wooden ring. Found this twine in the Wrap Shop in Rockwell. Thanks, Dants, for helping me find this one! It’s perfect.

Had to hang the bodies first before attaching the heads. Sounds so morbid. Haha!

Attached some extra yarn above their heads for some sheep bangs. Sheep bangs! Sheep bangs! 🙂

I was supposed to put a black sheep in the mix. There’s always a black sheep in the family. Haha! But my friend requested for a blue sheep instead 🙂 Hi Blue!

Finally, after weeks of crocheting and assembling, they’re finally ready to meet their new owner! 🙂

I was so bothered by what Dante said regarding the “X” eyes of the sheep. That in cartoons, it means they’re dead.  LOL. Bought some wooden buttons for the eyes right away! I don’t want to give dead sheep!

Now they’re wide-eyed and even cuter. Thanks, Dants! 🙂 (Dante, my fiercest judge. LOL!)

To Margaux, my friend, I hope your son enjoys the company of my little fluffy buddies and will help him sleep more soundly at night 🙂

A Handmade Knight

 

This is my latest amigurumi creation… The Dark Knight! 🙂  And I think he is my secret favorite.  Hehe…

 

First of all, his basic color scheme are my two favorite colors.  Black and grey.

 

It was also my first time to use suede cloth as a cape 🙂

 

I used to crochet the capes as well but I like the way the suede cloth flows.

 

I’m very happy with how Batman turned out 🙂
