A Great Turkish Discovery

3 May

One of the things I love about Twitter is that you see what and where your friends are eating and it just makes you want to go there right away! 🙂  This was one of those places.  Dante saw a tweet pic from one of our friends with a photo of this particular Turkish dish.  And now, here we are 🙂

This little cute place is called Combos Bread Company which is a bakery and cafe 🙂

It was like entering someone’s home 🙂  Love the vibe of this place!

We came to Combos for a late dinner but I would love to try their bread and breakfast menu.

I got the usual regular coke and Dante got some Raisin Juice! 🙂  Loved the Raisin Juice.

We just had to try their specialty! Iskender Kebab!!! 🙂 Never tasted anything like it! So delicious 🙂

“One of the most popular dishes in Northwestern Turkey which is a kind of doner kebab prepared from thinly cut grilled lamb basted with hot tomato sauce over pieces of pita bread and generously slathered with melted sheep butter and yoghurt.”

Dante and I also shared another dish.  Beef Kebab on rice!  Really yummy, too 🙂

“Delicious jasmine rice topped with grilled beef or chicken kebab sprinkled with black pepper, paprika powder, fresh parsley, slices of tomato, onion and cucumber.”

And now some Baklava for dessert 🙂

“A rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filo pastry filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup.”

Dante, quietly enjoying dessert 🙂

The perfect ending… Some Turkish Coffee.  *Happiness!*

You can find Combos Bread Company at 5911-B Matilde Street, Barangay Poblacion, Makati City.  Loved it here and definitely a must try!  This was a really great discovery!  I’m taking my friends here soon! 🙂
