Coin Bearer For Hire

25 May

Damien Crow has been a ring bearer or coin bearer several times before for our relatives’ weddings 🙂  But it was either Dante or I escorting him down the aisle because he was still too young to walk.  And when he was a little bit older, he just didn’t want to walk alone.  So when I found out that he was going to be a coin bearer for one of Dante’s bestfriend’s wedding, I already started prepping him for his big day! Haha! 🙂

Must put him in a good mood today… Mcdo Spaghetti and french fries are the secret to happiness 🙂 First pit stop.

Second pit stop. Villa Ibarra, Tagaytay 🙂 Magnificent view! 🙂

Pretty shoes! 🙂

Oh no… tears… He just wanted to stay here 😦 Good thing it only lasted about two minutes.

Disaster. We forgot Damien’s black pants! 😦 OMG. Panic only lasted for five minutes. When I saw how cute he looked with his shorts standing next to an equally handsome Best Man, I knew it’ll be okay! 🙂

A little drop of rain for good luck.

The Groom and Best Man 🙂

Time to rock ‘n roll, boys!!! 🙂

Damien, meet the pillow 🙂

Looking very relaxed before the wedding 🙂

Quick rehearsal with Yaya Sandra.

Preparing to walk with the other kids.

And it’s time!!! 🙂

Here’s the link to the video of “The Walk”.  And the exclusive interview with the Coin Bearer himself after “The Walk”.  I know that this walk probably only took about a minute, but I could see in Damien’s face that he was so proud of himself! 🙂  Happy he made his parents so proud.  And of course, he gets a surprise for walking… a new toy.  Haha!

Congratulations to the wonderful couple, Paolo and Maita!!! 🙂 Here they are saying their I Do’s.

The Best Man and Coin Bearer. Good job, boys!!! 🙂

A very rare family picture by the vintage bridal car! 🙂 Yes, yes, I carry a tote bag to weddings, don’t judge me. My evening purse is inside. LOL!

Congrats again to one of Dante’s bestfriends, Paolo and Maita!  It was a beautiful wedding!  Great Best Man speech, Dants!  The Titos on the next table agreed with every word you said. Haha! 🙂 Thank you for making our little Crow your Coin Bearer! 🙂  He still talks about it today!  I know he was very happy to do it that for you guys! 🙂

‘Til the next wedding, Crow 🙂

Ces, Sonya, Kasalan At Iba Pa :)

17 May

Sonya’s Garden is one of the most popular wedding venues here in Tagaytay 🙂  And last April 15, 2012, two of my friends, Ces and Dovie, tied the knot, right here at Sonya’s Garden 🙂

They were checked in at the Parsley Room 🙂

Bedroom slippers at Sonya’s Garden.

Ces’ beautiful wedding gown! Couldn’t wait to see her in it!

Here are some of the lovely details for Ces and Dovie’s Wedding which reflected their personality so much.  I loved it.

The wedding ceremony was in Filipino and all the details of their wedding were written in Filipino 🙂 Ganda!

I found a little corner to set up for hair and makeup 🙂

It was time for RJ, one of my closest friends and talented hairstylist, to start working his magic on Ces’ hair 🙂

Makeup DONE.  Ces’ skin is flawless 🙂  She just wanted a bridal look that was fresh and very natural 🙂

Time to take a quick break for lunch.  RJ and I had lunch at Sonya’s dining area and had a very healthy meal.  I’m not really a salad kind of gal but I really really enjoyed this meal! 🙂

We had a pitcher of this fresh dalandan juice. So refreshing!

These are the yummy spreads that came with our loaf of bread 🙂 YUM.

This and Sonya’s secret salad dressing… WINNER 🙂 Made me enjoy my salad so much! 🙂

Time to get ready! 🙂

Congratulations again…

…Dearest Ces and Dovie! 🙂

So sorry, I wasn’t able to stay for your wedding…  I really wanted to see you walk down the aisle 🙂 But still, it was such a pleasure being part of your big day! 🙂

Wishing you all the best, Ces and Dovie!  Love you, guys!!! 🙂

My Favorite Tonkatsu Place

15 May

One evening after work, Dante took me to this place called Tonkatsu-ya.  Our good friend, Sunny, told him that they have really good Tonkatsu.  And if Sunny says something is really good, we’re there! 🙂

Tonkatsu-ya is located in the basement of this condominium in Makati.

We discovered a gem! Haha!  Tonkatsu-ya’s interiors are very “homey”.  Our kind of place! 🙂

It’s a tiny place that can only seat up to twenty people 🙂

My date, Dante, hungry and excited! 🙂

Checking out their menu 🙂  Of course, we have to try what they’re known for… Tonkatsu.

I enjoyed their refreshing glass of cold tea 🙂

This bowl of Kani Salad is sooooo good 🙂  Made us want to buy the salad dressing in a Japanese grocery the other day. Hehe  We’ll try to replicate this at home.  Loved it.

I ordered the Miso Tonkatsu set 🙂  AN INSTANT FAVORITE, for me 🙂  It has this really rich, creamy sauce drizzled on top of the Tonkatsu.  I really enjoyed it.

I also had to try their Tonkatsu sauce.  There was a little pitcher of this sauce on every table.  Yum!!! 🙂

The Tonkatsu set comes with plain Japanese rice…

A cup of miso soup…

And some bean sprouts 🙂

Meanwhile, Dante got the Oroshi Tonkatsu set 🙂  And instead of having that rich, creamy sauce on the Tonkatsu, he had this radish dipping sauce on the side 🙂  Kind of reminds me of Tempura sauce 🙂

And of course, we ordered a plate of Gyoza.  Again, we ordered too much.  So we took the Gyoza home 🙂

Tonkatsu-ya became my instant favorite Tonkatsu place! Haha!  And I couldn’t believe that it has been there for almost six years!  Howcome we only discovered you now?!?!  So glad we did!  We took our family here for Mother’s Day dinner and they enjoyed it as well 🙂

They were also recently featured in Rogue Magazine.  They were so excited about it and the staff was asking us where to get a copy 🙂  Apparently, the group who ate there before us, found out about them through Rogue 🙂

I’m taking my friends here this week!  Can’t wait to eat my crunchy, saucy, Miso Tonkatsu Set again!!!

Tonkatsu-ya is located at LGF C Palm Tower, St. Paul Road, San Antonio Village, Makati City 🙂

A Mother’s Day

13 May

I thank the Lord everyday…

For giving me a son…

Who loves me for who I am…

Even if I’m not perfect…

And for giving me a mother…

Who is.

Magnetize Your Nails!

12 May

So happy to announce that Nails Inc. London Magnetic Polish has landed in Belle & Cat Nail and Wax Studio!!! 🙂 But what exactly is Magnetic Polish??? 🙂

“Magnetic Polish is a revolutionary magnetic nail lacquer used to create stunning 3D nail art designs in chic metallic shades.”

“Magnetic polish is the most exciting nail polish you have ever seen. This amazing nail polish will give instant WOW factor and ensure that you are miles ahead of the fashion game. You can create a gorgeous nail art effect in just a few minutes using these unique magnetic polishes.
This unique formula has been specially developed with metallic particles to create a pattern on the nail using magnetic forces. As the magnet is held over the nail, the iron powder in the formulation gravitates toward the magnet forming the pattern/design secretly hidden in the magnet for an astonishing finish!” – Nails Inc. London

Magnetic Polish can create a whole new unique nail design in just seconds! See what exciting patterns it will create! 🙂

This magnetic polish creates a 3D fishnet pattern. This metallic gold shade is called “Piccadilly”.

This metallic rasberry shade is called, “Kensington Palace”.

This metallic chrome shade is called “Trafalgar Square”. That’s my dear friend, Dominique, in the background 🙂 hehe

This teal color is called “White Hall”.

This purple shade is called “Houses of Parliament”. This is what I chose! 🙂

I chose “Houses of Parliament” for my nails!  I never had long nails only because I play the guitar. (hehe, yes I do.)  And also I have a hard time maintaining long nails.  I always end up biting them. LOL! 🙂  The magnetic polish still looked good on my short nails though and the design still really came out.

I love the unique swirly 3D effect the magnet created!!! How interesting… Kind of looks marbled, too.  Love it! 🙂

All five shades are available at Belle & Cat Nail and Wax Studio.  These are not for sale but you can have our nail technicians “magnetize” your nails! 🙂 Hope you could drop by soon! 🙂

Belle & Cat is located at 131 Sterling Centre, Ground Floor, Dela Rosa Street Corner Esteban Street, Legaspi Village, Makati or call us at 02-4806204 to make an appointment! 🙂  Be the first to have magnetic nails! 🙂

Zach and The Chocolate Factory

8 May

I was so excited to receive a little treat from my good friend, Gela Laurel, Stehmeier 🙂  Little did I know that this chocolate bar was not just any ordinary chocolate bar!  It was Zach’s bar!!!  Zach is Gela’s super handsome son and he was turning one!  This chocolate bar was an invitation that contained a golden ticket to Zach’s awesome oompa loompa party!  Was so excited to share this bar with my husband and son.  Once I opened it, it was gone in two minutes.  Most delicious invite ever! 🙂

Zach’s party was in Ayala Southvale.  Road trip!  🙂

Beautiful decor!  It was like being in Candy Land 🙂

Every table had so much treats!  Love it! 🙂

Here is the handsome birthday celebrant, Zach, with his hot mama, Gela! 🙂  Cute outfit, Zach!!! 🙂

OMG.  Damien’s favorite food ever.  French fries.

Cheese flavored fries from Potato Corner. The best.

Just give Damien some fries and he’s the happiest kid in the world 🙂

Now this, I like!!!

Pick a flavor! 🙂 I chose cheese and banana.

The cheese and bananas were blended into the ice cream and placed on an extra large champola stick! Pretty awesome!!! 🙂

Gela and I enjoying our Champola treats 🙂

So much food… 🙂 Next booth, mini burgers! 🙂

And more food… Cheese nachos, please? 🙂

It was also Easter Sunday that day 🙂

Gela with gorgeous mama, Vernice and her adorable daughter, Nana, who’s all grown up now! 🙂

Damien enjoying the park outside during sunset 🙂

Captain Crow! 🙂

Check out the candy corner!!! Unlimited candies, treats and cupcakes for everyone! 🙂

Candy cane for Damien, Runts for Mama. hahaha!

Watching the funniest magician ever! He was hilarious. Highly recommended for your kids’ parties. Haha!  According to Gela, just look for the magician who looks like Rene Requiestas. LOL!

Happy, happy birthday, dearest Zach!!! Thank you for inviting us to your awesome party! 🙂 Here’s Zach with his proud papa, Ace! 🙂 Til’ next year!!!

That was so much fun, Gels!!! Thank you also for the giant loot bag! Haha!  All I can say is, C-A-R-E-E-R! You did a great job organizing this party!  Ever consider opening up a party planning business??? Haha! Love ya, Gels!  Hugs to Zach from me, Dante and Crow 🙂 Mwah!
