A Day with Kouno-San from Shu Uemura, Japan

4 Dec

Kouno-San visited Manila recently to give us makeup associates of Shu Uemura, Philippines, a one-day intensive training on how to use Shu Uemura’s Holiday collection by Wong Kar Wai 🙂 Behind us is Miss Yumi, our wonderful interpreter 🙂

This is the gorgeous collection by Wong Kar Wai 🙂

Kouno-San doing a demo on how to use these wonderful palettes.

Kouno-San used his ring finger to apply the pigment with glitter.

These palettes are great to create a soft smokey eye look in either blue or purple.  Lovely 🙂

Finish it off with these fab lashes! 🙂 Achieve this soft rosy natural glow on the cheeks using the cream blush which is also included in the palettes.

After a quick lunch break, Kouno-San had time to teach us Mr. Shu Uemura’s first mode makeup collection, “flaggy”, a revolutionary concept in makeup design and artistic expression.

Kouno-San’s “flaggy”, eyes closed.  He demonstrated without the white areas. We just didn’t have enough time 😦

Kouna-San’s “flaggy” eyes open 🙂

After an hour of a whole lot of concentration, here’s my “flaggy” 🙂

With my model 🙂 Told her never to erase my “flaggy”. haha! 🙂

It was a great day 🙂 Was very happy to have met Kouno-San and hearing stories about Mr. Shu Uemura.  It’s always great to attend trainings like these.  Learning just never ends.  And I was with the company of my friends and colleagues from Shu Uemura, Philippines. Here is Kouno-San with one of my good friends, John Pagaduan-San, looking so handsome in his black suit! 🙂 John is an accredited artist of Shu Uemura. Love ya, Sis! 🙂
